Warranty Certificate

This warranty certificate has been prepared by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye in accordance with Articles 56 and 84 of Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection, dated 7 November 2013.

Thank you for choosing an RMS ZEITMEISTER watch. Your watch is the result of careful research and development and meets international quality standards; we hope it serves you faultlessly for many years. For both routine servicing and unexpected repairs, please use the RMS ZEITMEISTER technical service or one of its branches. Where no service centre or branch is available, you may send your watch to our central service through the dealer you purchased it from.

A watch purchased from an authorised dealer and supplied together with this booklet — bearing the warranty certificate and operating instructions, the dealer's trade name, the watch model, the date of sale, the invoice number and the dealer's stamp and signature — is covered for 24 months from the date of sale against faults arising from manufacturing defects in its parts. During the warranty period, the movement and other internal parts are serviced under warranty, except for faults caused by misuse or by a lack of periodic maintenance.

02 — Terms

Warranty Terms

  1. The warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered and lasts 2 (two) years.
  2. The product is covered by our warranty in its entirety, including all of its parts, for the statutory period.
  3. If the product develops a fault within the warranty period, the time spent on repair is added to the warranty period.
    1. The repair time may not exceed 20 (twenty) business days. This period begins on the date the fault is reported to the service station or, where there is no service station, to the seller, dealer, agent, representative, importer, exporter or manufacturer of the product.
    2. The consumer may report the fault by telephone, fax, e-mail, registered mail or a similar method. In the event of a dispute, however, the burden of proof lies with the consumer.
    3. If the fault is not remedied within 10 (ten) business days, the manufacturer or importer must provide the consumer with another product of similar specification for use until the repair is complete.
  4. If the product develops a fault within the warranty period due to materials, workmanship or assembly, it will be repaired free of charge, with no labour cost, replacement part cost or any other charge.
  5. Faults arising from use contrary to the operating instructions are excluded from the warranty.

02 — Terms

Warranty Terms (continued)

  1. Even where the consumer has exercised the right to repair, if the product:
    1. fails at least 4 (four) times within one year, or more than 6 (six) times within the warranty period set by the manufacturer or importer, and these faults continuously prevent use of the product; or
    2. the repair period is exceeded, or a report issued — in order — by the seller, dealer, agent, representative, importer or manufacturer establishes that repair is impossible because the company has no service station, then the consumer may request free replacement, a refund, or a price reduction in proportion to the defect.
    3. The consumer must notify the seller of the defect within 30 (thirty) days of the delivery date. In this case the consumer is entitled to withdraw from the contract with a refund, to have the product replaced with a defect-free equivalent, to a price reduction in proportion to the defect, or to free repair. The seller is obliged to fulfil the option chosen by the consumer.
  2. Any problems concerning the warranty certificate may be referred to the Directorate General for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance of the Ministry of Trade.
  3. The seller, dealer or agents are responsible for ensuring that the warranty certificate — prepared in line with the provisions of the relevant regulation and the document approved by the Directorate General — is certified and given to the consumer, and for proving that this obligation has been fulfilled.
  4. Invoices issued for the product sold do not replace the warranty certificate. However, an invoice issued following repair or part replacement at a service station does replace it, provided it contains the warranty terms required by the regulation.
  5. Business days are working days other than national, official and religious holidays, New Year's Day, 1 May, Saturdays and Sundays.
  6. The service life of the watches is 5 years. Importers and manufacturers are obliged to keep spare parts available throughout the service life.
04

03 — Use

Use and Care

  1. Protect your watch from hard contact such as knocks, drops and impacts.
  2. Avoid strong electrical or magnetic fields that may damage the movement (DECT phones, the immediate vicinity of a mobile phone, loudspeakers, MRI equipment and similar).
  3. On watches with a leather strap, keep the strap away from water, seawater and perspiration to prevent it from deforming.
  4. Use your watch in line with its functions and its stated water-resistance rating.
  5. After use, always push the crown back to its first position. On watches with a screw-down crown, screw the crown down fully. Never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or with wet fingers.
  6. Always consult the operating instructions when setting your watch.
05

04 — Exclusions

Not Covered by the Warranty

  1. Use of the product contrary to the instructions given in the operating manual.
  2. Tampering with the watch or opening it by unauthorised persons.
  3. Loss, alteration or falsification of the warranty certificate proving that the product is under warranty.
  4. Missing manufacturer, importer, product or seller details on the warranty certificate.
  5. Damage and deterioration caused by natural disasters such as fire, flood and earthquake, and damage caused by fire.
  6. Scratches on the outer surfaces of the watch caused by use.
  7. Case, bracelet, glass, crown and similar parts scratched, damaged, broken or detached through use.
  8. Damage to the case, bracelet, strap and similar parts caused by alcohol and other chemicals in perfume or cosmetics used while wearing the watch.
  9. Do not operate the pushers or open the crown while the watch is in water. Faults caused by leaving a screw-down crown open during normal use are excluded from the warranty.
  10. Keep your watch away from hot water. Hot water can affect its pressure ratings and disturb its running; it can also degrade the gaskets, allowing water ingress and/or condensation. Such faults are excluded from the warranty.
